Many times people are confused about what a particular color of a ribbon stands for (when worn as an indication of recognition). We know when we see pink ribbons being worn they symbolize the cure for breast cancer. Below is a list of what the ribbon colors mean.

  • Silver - Children with disabilities / campaign for the brain

  • Red - AIDS / HIV

  • Multi-color - Autism

  • Gray - Diabetes

  • Pink - Breast Cancer

  • Yellow - Military Support; POW/MIA; suicide prevention

  • Gold - Childhood cancer

  • Blue - Prevent child abuse; free abuse

  • Pale yellow - Spina Bifada

  • Purple - abuse & violence; religious tolerance; animal abuse

  • Light blue - prostrate cancer; trisomy 18; sclerodermy

  • White - victims of terrorism

  • Black - mourning; melanoma

  • Orange - hunger; cultural diversity

  • Teal - ovarian cancer

  • Green - environment; organ donation

  • Clear with gold trim - lung cancer
