So,
you've heard all the hype about losing inches fast with a 30 minute
workout, 3 times a week. Your first thought: been there, done that.
With all the different exercise regimes and weight loss plans -
we've heard it all. We've just about tried them all them as well
- to no avail. But not this time!!!
I decided,
after hearing success stories from my mother-in-law (she lost over
9 total inches in under a year), that I would give it a try. I had
recently begun to gain weight (not as active as I once was) and
the 'diets' I went on only made me gain weight. I was walking everyday
and tried to keep moving more, but I wasn't getting the results
I wanted.
So,
after talking it over with my husband - I signed up. I have faithfully
gone 3 times a week and done a full 30 minute workout. I am determined
to get results. At my month 'anniversary' I was measured and turns
out I lost a total of 2 1/4 inches and my body fat percentage went
down - all in one month. That was exciting. I have my 2 month measuring
coming up soon and am sure the numbers will be even better. At the
time of this article I have been going for almost 2 months and I
am seeing results - results that I like. I can actually see my muscles
getting toned; in my calf, thighs, arms, back - you name it. My
clothes are also fitting a little differently, which makes me happy.
I have more energy, I don't have back pain like I use to and I feel
good about myself. I still have a ways to go until I reach my goal
of how I want to look, but even at that, I will continue to be a
member of Curves so I
can keep in shape.

You will get them, if you do the exercises correctly and follow
the 3 times a week fitness plan - you're sure to walk away pleased.
If you don't want to do it alone, ask a friend, sister or mother
to join with you (encouragement is always good and helpful when
exercising).
UPDATE:
On August 25, 2004 I got measured again
(4th month at Curves)
and I have lost 1% body fat, 1 pound, and 4 1/2 total inches. I'm
fitting into clothes that 5 months ago I couldn't get over my hips!
Membership:
You can either sign up for a year or go by a month to month basis.
There is a start up fee for joining which is paid immediately with
the first months charges. Each month they will charge your credit
card or they do check drafts.
Atmosphere:
It's very laid back and comfortable, considering it's only females.
The machines are placed in a circle, with a spring board between
each machine. They have fast music playing that helps keep the energy
up and keeps it lively. You don't need to be in tight workout clothes
or even have make-up on to work out here.
