cleansers

Some cleansing advice:

  • Always use warm/tepid water, never hot or too cold.
  • Splashing your face with cool water after washing will help close your pores.
  • Always apply cleansers and lotion in an upward circular motion, so you are not pulling on your skin.
  • When you dry your face, pat it with a towel, don't wipe.
  • Always use products that best fit your skin type to avoid irritation and damage.

Castile Cleanser

    • 3 tbsp liquid castile soap
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1/4 cup distilled water
    • 1 tsp glycerine
Mix all ingredients in a squeeze bottle or pump bottle and mix well by stirring. Before each use, swirl bottle to mix ingredients.

Clay Mask Cleanser

      • 2 tbsp facial clay (green, kaolin)
      • 2 tbsp glycerine
      • 1 tsp liquid castile soap
      • 1/2 cup distilled water

Mix all ingredients in a jar thoroughly. Put a small amount in hand and make a lather. Apply to face in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water.

  • Plain oatmeal is a great natural cleanser. Grind oatmeal to a fine powder and mix with water. Rub on face in a circular motion and rinse with warm water.

  • You can also place oatmeal flakes (not ground) in cheesecloth and tie with a rubber band. Get the oatmeal wet and rub on face. Rinse with warm water.

  • Plain Castile soap works great for a facial cleanser and hand cleanser and shower gel. Castile soap should always be diluted when using. I've seen and used different variations, but my face can handle a 1:3 ratio of castile soap to water. Do the same for hand cleanser and place in a pump bottle. For shower gel, I use a 1:1 ratio and I add a little almond oil to help smooth my skin. Shake well before using.
