eye cream

When applying any sort of cream or treatment around your eyes, you need to be very gentle. The skin around the eyes is very sensitive and thinner than the rest of your face. It's best to use your ring finger to apply creams around your eyes because it is the weakest finger and you are less likely to pull the skin when applying. Please note that if your eyes become irritated when trying any sort of product, discontinue use.

Cocoa Butter Line Fighter

      • 2 tbsp mango butter
      • 2 tbsp cocoa butter
      • 2 tbsp coconut oil
      • 1 tsp vitamin E oil

Mix all ingredients in a water bath or in a microwave safe container. Heat until all ingredients are melted and mix thoroughly. Pour into a small container with a lid and allow to cool. This will solidify during the process of cooling. Use a small amount around your eyes in the evening. This is probably too heavy to put on under make-up.

Plain cocoa butter also works well as an eye cream. It helps to keep skin soft and helps smooth out fine lines. Since cocoa butter is naturally in a solid state, rub a small amount between finger before applying to the eye area (making sure it has melted).

Using Vitamin E oil by itself is a great eye cream, but it is very thick and sticky, so it's best to do it at night. If you will be leaving it on as your sleep, try to sleep on your back to it doesn't all rub off on your pillow.

*
Sleep on your back instead of on your side or stomach. When you sleep anyway other than on your back, the skin on your face is smashed, stretched and 'altered' while you sleep, therefore a more likelihood to developing fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the eyes.
