never
feed your animals chocolate - it is a poison in their system -
and since all animals are different, a small amount that wouldn't
bother one animal, could kill another
even
though some vets say that a certain chocolate may be more poison
than another, it's best to keep it completely away from your animals
it
has been said that grapes can cause cancer in your dog, so keep
those grapes away as well
during
the holidays, keep all cookies, fudge, candy and other treats
out of their reach...if you have large dogs that can get into
things on the counter, consider placing items in cupboards
cats
(and some dogs) like to eat string, ribbon, etc. so during holidays
and birthdays, keep all decorating ribbon, balloon strings and
other similar items of the floor and out of their reach
make
sure you wipe your dogs or cats paws if they've been outside and
walked in chemicals for ice melting - if they lick their paws
it can be very dangerous for them
don't
leave your pets out when it's cold - don't assume they'll find
a warm place to stay - bring them in
clean
your pets water dish frequently throughout the day...bacteria
can grow in water quickly, especially if it is used often
