6-9 months before:

  • Go with your fiancé. to select tuxes for the bridal party. You may also go with her to choose bridesmaids dresses.
  • Go with your fiancé. to register for wedding gifts. You can even have places like Home Depot® or REI® for your gift registry. It's not just for the brides anymore.

Help your fiancé. with the following:

  • Begin looking at invitations or purchasing supplies to make your own. (Read our article Looking For the Perfect Invitation).

  • Begin looking for who you want to do your wedding cake. Shop around for prices and taste (most bakeries will give you samples to try). Get recommendations.

  • Begin looking for the entertainment you want (DJ's, live bands, etc.) Get tapes, set up appointments to listen to live bands, etc. so you can see the quality of work they do.
