Junior Bridesmaids

Junior bridesmaids are girls usually between the ages of 9 and 15. There are generally too old to hold the position of a flower girl, but then again, may not be old enough to be a bridesmaid (though, that is up to the bride to decide). They can be family, friends or even children of the bride and/or groom. This is usually a fun time for them and are very willing and eager to help out with whatever they can!

  • Accompany the bride (if she asks you to) while looking for wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, decoration, cakes, etc.

  • Attends pre-wedding showers and parties.

  • Offer to help with favors, set up, clean up - anything to help out the bride and her family.

  • Usually wears the same style dress as the bridesmaids. If anything, the same color dress (if the bridesmaid's dresses are too mature for the young girl).

  • Carries a bouquet that matches those of the bridesmaids, maybe a little smaller depending on the size of theirs.

  • Stands with the other bridesmaids during the ceremony.

  • Attends the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner.

  • Help the bride on the wedding day with little last minute details she has.

  • Offer to hand out programs, stand at the guest book tables, receive gifts, etc.

  • Smile a lot and be willing to help out the bride, maid/matron of honor or hte bridesmaids.

  • It's a nice gesture to give the bride a thank you note for including you in this special day.
